Girl Talk - What Women Talk About?

Most of our "Girl Talk" would make a man blush!

Most guys think their ladies would blush if they heard what really went on in locker rooms at local gyms all over the world. While it's likely the talk might curl a hair or two on a fair maiden's head, guys might be surprised to find out "girl talk" isn't all about recipes, children and cleaning techniques.

Wine, roses and fluff might dominate some conversations - especially within earshot of men or if the ladies involved don't know each other too well - but the simple truth of the matter is girl talk behind closed doors is generally much more open and frank. Quite honestly, it might even curl a hair or two on a fair lad's head.

So, what is it that women really talk about? The simple answer is everything! When close friends get together for a little girl talk, the conversations often include:

• Men: Yes, you guessed it. We really do talk about you, but not necessarily as much as you might think. You might be the love of our lives, but you're not always the center of our universe.
• Children: The little apples of our eyes come up frequently. How they are doing, what they are doing and how they behave are of concern, and of course are worthy of conversation. If they're in our lives, they hold a special place in our hearts and our girl talk, as well.
• Hobbies: From Shopping to sky diving, we do it all and we talk about it. Video games, exercising, white water rafting, if it's a hobby, chances are we are talking about it!
• Careers: Hey, a girl's gotta get ahead, right? Careers, what's happening at work, what we can do to do better, improve our lot in life and advance our careers very often dominates conversation.
• Politics and current events: We're more concerned with what's happening in the world, what is being done to change it and how we can help effect change than the opposite sex often realizes. We have our ideas, and we're not afraid to share them with each other and the world outside. We're also not afraid to get our hands dirty along the way.
• Sex: A girl's gotta have some fun, too! We talk about what we like, what we don't like, and what we might like to try. Sometimes we might even talk about how you're doing and what we wished you might do instead! Make no mistake, women are not too fair to get saucy.

There's much more to "girl talk" than tea and crumpets. The simple fact of the matter is we're conversant on every topic imaginable and some you might not even want to hear about. If we're close friends and we're talking, the conversation is going to be a whole lot less formal and a whole lot more open and edgy than our locker-room loving male counterparts expect.
